Money, Sex and Feminine Power.
What do these three elements have in common?
Probably more than you think.
They say, “You are never powerful in life until you are powerful with money.”
They also say, “The way you are in bed, is the way you are in life.”
Regardless of whether you agree with these statements or not, there is a nugget of truth to each one. When we can be honest with ourselves and have the courage to dig deep into how disempowered we may be around sex and money, we become aware of two places in our life that have ENORMOUS potential to transform.
Powerful women are intimidating because empowered women change the world.
And this is exactly why our power and the sources it flows from, have been systematically shut down, repressed and oppressed. Cut us down at our roots by having us believe we are unworthy, dirty, sinful and only good at certain things, and our inherent power becomes stunted. Our own illusory beliefs, passed down from generation to generation, continue to block the growth that wants to naturally take place.
We cease to grow into the colossal and mighty oaks we were meant to be.
So what does all this have to do with money and sex?
It means that in order for the church and state to rise and for monotheistic religion to take hold, women had to be severed from all sources of power…
In turn, this meant that feminine sexual energy and the powerful force that creates Life had to remain a secret. No one could know about the energy that unfurls from the base of the spine when awakened by intentional practices and during sacred union. No one could know, too, that women are just as powerful as men when it comes to stewarding the currency of money.
No, over the years, women have been fed LIES.
We have adopted the belief that giving birth requires the assistance of a medical professional (usually male).
We have been fooled into thinking that our bodies have been created to GIVE pleasure, more than to receive it.
We have been fed the BS that tells us that beyond nurturing our families and communities, being emotional creatures who get “crazy” at that time of the month, we don’t have much to offer.
We are too sensitive, we are too quiet, we are too loud, we are to unpredictable, we are too wild…..we are not logical, they tell us.
In response, some of us are so numb we don’t realize what has happened to our power, whilst this divine birthright, still quietly courses through our veins, just waiting to be unleashed.
Others have seen glimpses of their power and so they become enraged that they have been inadvertently blocking their own access to it. They feel caged, held down by shackles and wounds they have inherited at birth.
Others still, become “feminists”, speak out against the injustices, the biased way our culture continues on. They become truth-speakers and fire-starters and they are not afraid to point out where our society continues to organize around patriarchal principles. They revolt and find ways to recalibrate the imbalance of power in both the private and public spheres.
You may find yourself intensely immersed in one of these categories or simultaneously flowing through all three. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you begin to FEEL your Feminine Power regardless of what is happening in the world around you. Because when we tap into our innate power as women, we naturally begin to heal, grow, expand and fulfill our dreams. We reach heights we never believed were possible---because we never were taught they were possible.
But it’s time to take matters into our own hands. It’s time to come back into our power. It’s time to own who we are as visionaries, medicine women, witches and priestesses…incarnated at this time to help restore the Earth and all Life.
So how do we do this?
We start where we have felt most disempowered.
I don’t know about you, but for me, that has been around my relationship with my body and yes, around my relationship with money.
These are the areas where in the past, I felt most filled with confusion, shame and guilt, along with an inexplicable resistance that blocked me from the ability to receive—whether that be in the form of pleasure or income.
What about you? Where do you feel most disempowered in your life today? That's where you begin. Afterall, the crack is where the light gets in.
